OBJECTIVE

To find a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment in which I can
apply  my problem-solving, programming, Linux, and networking skills in a
security, systems, or network administration position involving many different 
tasks.

SYNOPSIS

I have designed, maintained, secured, and monitored networks of up to over two 
hundred nodes for almost as many users all while teaching my more junior co-
workers more complex topics and best common practices.  All of the server nodes 
had a spotless security record and high operational uptimes.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  SunRocket, Inc. Vienna, VA

    Senior IT Systems Administrator August 2006 Ð June 2007
      - Maintained the SunRocket corporate network and services, including
        Qmail, Courier IMAP, Mailman, BIND, OpenLDAP, Samba, Nagios, and 
        Jabberd.
      - Maintained Cisco PIX firewalls / VPN devices, routers, and switches.
      - Implemented and advocated for better security policies and practices.
      - Deployed and maintained Subversion SCCS and converted development from
        CVS.  Got other departments, including IT, using SVN for revision
        control and tracking.
      - Developed a conversion plan and executed it on demo boxes for Jira
        issue   tracking system and Confluence wiki server migration and
        upgrade.
      - Implemented IT issue tracking system and wiki with Trac.
      - Developed an improved, unified, company-wide DNS infrastructure.
      - Implemented and ran SunRocket's internal certificate authority.
      - Helped end users with Widows client problems.
      - Was developing a migration of the corporate email system from Qmail /
        Courier IMAP to Postfix / Dovecot.
      - Was in the process of moving from Jabberd to OpenFire IM server.

      - Helped maintain the development lab, including Linux and Solaris boxes, 
        BigIPs, Network Appliance file server, and Foundry layer 3 switches.
      - Wrote node configuration and package management scripts in Perl.
